Taxpayer-funded ‘green’ study: Global warming will cause space alien invasion

Posted on August 19, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

Gang Green’s latest bid to scare Americans into surrendering their jobs, tax dollars and freedoms is literally out of this world.

Political activists in NASA’s Planetary Science Division have cranked out a report claiming that so-called “man-made global warming” will result in the deaths of every human on the planet..

…by space aliens.

As “man-made global warming” continues to be exposed as a hoax and academic fraud at an accelerating rate, Gang Green is sinking to even lower depths to keep the pipeline of taxpayer funding flowing.

“Green” aliens might object to the environmental damage humans have caused on Earth and wipe us out to save the planet. “These scenarios give us reason to limit our growth and reduce our impact on global ecosystems. It would be particularly important for us to limit our emissions of greenhouse gases, since atmospheric composition can be observed from other planets,” the authors write.

“Space aliens?  Space aliens? I guess I should be happy the ‘man-made global warming’ hoax has been so thoroughly debunked that radical environmentalists have been reduced to waving their hands and bellowing ‘Ooooooh!  Space aliens!,” said American Tradition Partnership Executive Director Donald Ferguson.

“It’d be funny if it weren’t for the fact environmentalists spent your tax dollars on this lunatic attempt to terrorize people into complying with their destructive agenda.  With NASA already in dire financial straits this waste and fraud needs to be investigated and the environmentalists responsible for this insane propaganda held accountable,” said Ferguson.

Green politician claims gas drilling conspiracy gives ‘the womenfolk’ STDs

Posted on August 18, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

Environmental activist and Pennsylvania Democrat State Rep. Michael Sturla managed to insult both workers and women when, in an e-mail to a reporter, he implied the state’s women are promiscuous, claimed that natural gas drilling gives “womenfolk” sexually transmitted diseases, and further claimed the government behind a conspiracy to cover up the supposed natural gas/STD epidemic.

“Michael Sturla owes Pennsylvania’s energy sector workers an apology for insanely accusing them of spreading diseases, and he owe women an apology for suggesting they are promiscuous  and only ‘the womenfolk’ can get STDs,” said American Tradition Partnership Executive Director Donald Ferguson.

“I hope the tinfoil wrapped around Michael Sturla’s head is recyclable,” said Ferguson.

Amazingly, after telling reporters that Pennsylvania women are promiscuous, that natural gas development causes STDs and the government is covering it up, Sturla is still the Democrat Policy Chairman for the Pennsylvania State House.

“If that’s who Pennsylvania’s House Democrats have put in charge of their policy, they all owe their constituents an apology.  Michael Sturla continues to prove there’s no science or truth whatsoever behind environmentalist claims about natural gas drilling.  They’ll simply make up whatever story they think will terrorize people out of a job.  Sturla’s insane rant is yet another of the scare stories about clean, safe resource development are utterly insane lies,” said Ferguson.

“After an ill-advised relationship with environmentalists, Michael Sturla is trying to infect his constituents with unemployment and poverty.  The only epidemic threatening Pennsylvania is the irrational campaign of lies spread by the anti-jobs environmentalist lobby and Michael Sturla’s case of malignant stupidity and misogyny,” said Ferguson.

Producing Obama’s Chevy Volt requires $197,000 in tax subsidies per car

Posted on by Donald Ferguson

Human Events‘ John Hayward reports:

The Volt is actually leading the pack among electric cars, selling a total of 2,029 units since launch, compared to 1,044 units for the Nissan Leaf.

The Volt was developed with almost four hundred million dollars in federal subsidies, plus millions more in subsidies offered to purchasers by both federal and state governments.  All for a car that sold 2,029 units in two years.  That works out to over $197,000 in taxpayer subsidies for each unit sold thus far.

You might be tempted to view this as an example of the business acumen that drove General Motors bankrupt, and turned them into a corporate welfare basket case that cost taxpayers ten billion dollars, but that’s unfair to GM executives.  I doubt any of them would have honestly looked at a free automobile market and seen enough Volt demand to justify a $400 million project.

They believed the government would create demand for the Volt through compulsive force… by penalizing everybody who doesn’t buy one (the correct way to view a point-of-purchase subsidy), advertising electric cars through official propaganda, and driving up the price of gasoline.

Seattle’s $20 million ‘green’ jobs program employs just 14 people

Posted on August 17, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

KOMO reports:

Last year, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn announced the city had won a coveted $20 million federal grant to invest in weatherization. The unglamorous work of insulating crawl spaces and attics had emerged as a silver bullet in a bleak economy – able to create jobs and shrink carbon footprint – and the announcement came with great fanfare.

McGinn had joined Vice President Joe Biden in the White House to make it. It came on the eve of Earth Day. It had heady goals: creating 2,000 living-wage jobs in Seattle and retrofitting 2,000 homes in poorer neighborhoods.

But more than a year later, Seattle’s numbers are lackluster. As of last week, only three homes had been retrofitted and just 14 new jobs have emerged from the program. Many of the jobs are administrative, and not the entry-level pathways once dreamed of for low-income workers…

…Before the city got the $20 million, some local agencies, including Got Green, had received funds in a government push to train workers in weatherization. But the anticipation of landing career-path jobs evaporated as months went by with no work.

“People are frustrated and rightly so,” Curtis said. “There’s been sort of a lag time when people graduated from those programs.”

They include Long Duong, 32, who got a certificate in sealing air leaks and insulating walls after he was laid off from a job handling bags at the airport. But he soon found that other men had more qualifications than him, and he took part-time gigs – installing light bulbs and canvassing doors – while waiting for work.

A year later, he’s still looking….

…”But if this would have been easy, it would have been done already,” (Greenwich said.)

Bachmann bops Pawlenty’s job-killing green extremism

Posted on August 12, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

The Hill‘s Ben German reports:

Bachmann listed Pawlenty’s support for cap-and-trade – a policy that has become politically toxic in GOP circles – among several positions he staked out as governor that Bachmann said have made Pawlenty’s record consistent with President Obama’s views. “I would say Governor, when you were governor in Minnesota, you implemented cap-and-trade in our state,” Bachmann said, while casting herself as a fighter against cap-and-trade and several other Democratic policies…

…“On cap and trade, I was there from the very beginning giving Speaker Pelosi a run for her money,” Bachmann said.

Federal probe into polar bear ‘study’ finds fraud, possible crimes

Posted on August 11, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

Yet another “study” that led to the adoption of radical green policies has been exposed as wholesale fraud.

It’s becoming apparent the entire environmentalist “movement” and virtually every prediction and claim made by it has part of a large scale fraud intended deceive lawmakers into adopting radical policies and to bilk millions of tax dollars from the government.

Human Events’ Audrey Hudson reports:

(Excerpted)

Special agents from the Interior Department’s inspector general’s office are questioning the two government scientists about the paper they wrote on drowned polar bears, suggesting mistakes were made in the math and as to how the bears actually died, and the department is eyeing another study currently underway on bear populations.

Biologist Charles Monnett, the lead scientist on the paper, was placed on administrative leave July 18.  Fellow biologist Jeffrey Gleason, who also contributed to the study, is being questioned, but has not been suspended.

The disputed paper was published by the journal Polar Biology in 2006, and suggests that the “drowning-related deaths of polar bears may increase in the future if the observed trend of regression of pack ice and/or longer open-water periods continues.”

It galvanized the environmental movement that led to the bear’s controversial listing in 2008 as threatened, and it is now protected under the Endangered Species Act.

Although the four dead bears cited in the paper were observed from 1,500 feet during flights over the Beaufort Sea, and the carcasses were never recovered or examined, Gleason told investigators it is likely the creatures drowned in a sudden windstorm that produced 30-knot winds, not for lack of an ice pack.

“We never mentioned global warming in the paper,” Gleason told the investigators, according to the transcript.

The fraudulent polar bear study could end with criminal prosecutions.

Monnett now manages $50 million in studies as part of his duties as a wildlife biologist with the Interior Department’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.

Investigators are also examining Monnet’s procurement of one of those research studies on polar bears conducted by Canada’s University of Alberta, as well as the “disclosure of personal relationships and preparation of the scope of work,” according to a July 29 memo from the Interior Department’s inspector general’s office.
