American Tradition Partnership launches FuelingJobs.com to approve Keystone XL pipeline

Citizens can go to FuelingJobs.com to sign the petition to Secretary of State Clinton supporting approval of 342,000-job energy pipeline

WASHINGTON – Americans fed up with high unemployment and rising gas prices can go to FuelingJobs.com to register their support for the Keystone XL pipeline project, a new safe, clean North American energy pipeline projected to create 342,000 jobs and deliver 700,000 barrels of oil a each day to United States refineries.

FuelingJobs.com is a project of American Tradition Partnership (ATP,) the nation’s largest and fastest growing advocate of rational, pro-growth energy policies.  ATP is supported entirely by grassroots members.

Citizens have until a government deadline of Oct. 5 to go to FuelingJobs.com and sign the petition to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Keystone project, which has met the highest environmental and safety standards, is being blocked by lobbyists for the multi-million dollar environmentalist lobby.

“Americans need to go to FuelingJobs.com and sign the petition to demand Barack Obama stop blocking this jobs project.  FuelingJobs.com is the only way grassroots Americans can stop the million-dollar lobbyists who are blocking 342,000 jobs and lower gas prices,” said ATP Executive Director Donald Ferguson.

“How heartless can environmentalists be?,” said Ferguson.   “The Keystone pipeline creates 342,000 new jobs and safely, cleanly delivers 700,000 barrels of oil each day to U.S. refineries.  Hollywood actresses and million-dollar ‘green’ lobbyists may be doing great in this economy, but millions of Americans need the jobs and affordable gas this national project creates.  The pipeline is the safest, cleanest form of energy transport there is, and it has easily passed the required environmental statement,” said Ferguson.

Among the activists opposing the jobs pipeline is actress Daryl Hannah, three-time Razzie Award nominee for Worst Supporting Actress and star of such films as the 1999 remake “My Favorite Martian” and the TV movie “Shark Swarm.”

“If Daryl Hannah is promoting something it can’t be good.  I saw ‘Addams Family Reunion.’  I want my money back,” said Ferguson.

Obama changes law so his donors, CA Dems get Solyndra $ before taxpayers

Posted on by Donald Ferguson

President Barack Obama raised eyebrows when he exempted the now-bankrupt and FBI-raided Solyndra solar experiment from a federal law requiring taxpayers be placed ahead of private creditors when a federally-funded corporation goes bankrupt.

Now we may be finding out why.

“Out of the hundreds of out-of-work employees, vendors, investors and other creditors in the bankruptcy of government-backed solar-panel maker Solyndra LLC, one name stands out: the California Democratic Party…One investor, Argonaut Private Equity, is tied to George Kaiser, Oklahoma billionaire and fundraiser for Mr. Obama’s 2008 campaign,” The Washington Times reports this morning.

Solyndra will not reveal how much cash the California Democrat Party may be receiving.  The Party claims to know nothing about the deal.

Solyndra received over a half-billion dollars of taxpayer money from the Obama administration after the Bush administration refused to give the cash.

“Just two years ago, the company received federal loan guarantees of more than $500 million, money it burned through but hasn’t repaid. Because of a subsequent loan restructuring, taxpayers won’t be repaid before the private investors who poured $75 million into the company earlier this year as it tried to stay afloat,” the Times reports.

Obama made Solyndra the centerpiece of his failed “green jobs” political campaign, and the partnership may have paid off handsomely. “This announcement today is part of the unprecedented investment this administration is making in renewable energy and exactly what the Recovery Act is all about,” the Obama administration announced when making the handout.

While taxpayers are stuck with a half-billion dollars in lost cash while Obama donors and California Democrats are first in line for repayment, federally-funded Solyndra donated $7,500.00 to the California Democrat Party and $1,000.00 to three California Assembly Democrat candidates.

“Solyndra employees have donated more than $20,000 to federal lawmakers over the years, most of it going to Democrats. A breakdown of donations by the Center for Responsive Politics shows 72 percent went to Democrats, 27 percent to Republicans and 1 percent to Libertarian candidates,” the Times reports.

When questioned how the Obama-connected firm managed to get a half-billion dollars in taxpayer money the company’s predicted bankruptcy prevented it from getting most private loans, Solyndra executives exercised their right to avoid implicating themselves in a crime.

“In the wake of the company’s collapse and subsequent raid by the FBI this month, Solyndra’s top two executives, citing their Fifth Amendment rights [against implicating themselves in a criminal matter,] refused to testify last week before the House Energy and Commerce investigations subcommittee, which has been looking at the Solyndra loan deal for months,” the Times reports.

Obama to asthmatic kids: Go suck wind.

Posted on September 24, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

The Obama administration this week issued new federal dictates outlawing life-saving affordable asthma inhalers, MSNBC reports, under the scientifically ludicrous claim they are a threat to the entire planet.

“Once again, environmentalists kill,” said American Tradition Partnership Executive Director Donald Ferguson.

“I can tell you from personal experience access to these affordable, lower-priced inhalers is the only reason a lot kids see another birthday.  Obama has coldly and cruelly embraced an environmentalist hoax to keep alive his access to the checkbooks of wealthy environmentalist groups — and thousands of kids will pay a terrible price.”

Between one to two million Americans rely on the now-outlawed inhalers, according to Badrul Chowdhury, FDA’s director of pulmonary drug division.  Many of them are children and a disproportionate number live in poverty and are unable to afford the higher-priced Obama-mandated inhalers.

“But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60,” MSNBC reports.

“It seems the environmentalist solution to non-existent problems is to rack up a death toll.  The idea asthma inhalers will annihilate the planet is scientifically laughable, but the now-increased childhood death rate from is nothing to laugh at.  Instead of making kids suffer, it’s time to snuff out the deadly environmentalist movement,” said Ferguson.

Democrats vote to shut down government over cuts to Solyndra-style program

Posted on September 23, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

Senate Democrats have voted down a budget resolution containing a cut to the government program that funds “green” companies like scandal-ridden Solyndra, putting the government on a path to shutdown.

“The Senate has voted to reject the temporary spending bill passed by the House late last night,” the Christian Science Monitor reports this morning. “With near permanent brinksmanship the new normal, Congress headed into votes Friday to try to avert a government shutdown that is slated to occur on Oct. 1 if a continuing resolution bill is not passed.”

“…GOP leaders added a $100 million cut to an alternative energy loan fund to the CR package. Funding for alternative energy is a signature priority of the Obama administration. It also reinforces an emerging theme in the 2012 House GOP campaign to defend its majority: White House “crony capitalism” and the waste of stimulus funding dollars,” the Monitor reports.

“A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee has been investigating the Energy Department and White House Office of Management and Budget over a $535 million loan guarantee to Solyndra, a solar company with close ties to the White House that went bankrupt two years after accepting the loan. Solyndra was the first loan guarantee issued by the Obama administration and often cited as a success story for the stimulus plan and green energy job creation.

“‘Congress and the American taxpayers have a right to know whether this loan guarantee was rushed out the door before it was ready for prime time, whether the Administration doubled down on a bad bet after knowing of the company’s dubious commercial prospects or, even worse, whether $535 million taxpayer dollars were wasted on false or incomplete information,’ said Rep. Cliff Stearns (R) of Florida, who chairs the panel, in an opening statement at Friday’s oversight hearing.”

Just how much control do corrupt green companies have over Congress?,” asked American Tradition Partnership Executive Director.  “With House Democrats defending Solyndra executive from having to answer questions as they plead the Fifth, to Senate Democrats shutting down the government over small cuts to green welfare programs, the puppet strings are clearly visible.”

So-called ‘green” programs are an efficient way to take taxpayer dollars, run it through a ‘green’ company and funnel it right into politicians’ campaign accounts.  What we are witnessing is a shameless attempt by Gang Green politicians to save a corrupt campaign finance mechanism by keeping the taxpayer funding pipeline gushing and blocking investigations,” said Ferguson.

IBD: Obama sunburns taxpayers with possibly illegal Solyndra handout

Posted on September 19, 2011 by Donald Ferguson

The editorial board of Investors Business Daily writes Sept. 16:

(Excerpt) “With a minimum of five green firms going bankrupt, taxpayers find themselves on the hook for at least one possibly illegal loan while paying ghastly sums for each green job created. We’ve been sunburned…

…Under the restructuring agreement, Solyndra’s private investors were moved to the front of the line and taxpayers were put on the hook for at least the first $75 million if the company should default. Subordinating taxpayers to private investors in recovering loan money is an “apparent violation of the law,” according to Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

During hearings last week, Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., and other Republicans noted that the Energy Policy Act of 2005 says obligations, or loan guarantees, shall not be subordinated to other financing.

In other words, taxpayers get first dibs on any money recovered and private investors take a number.

Why was the Solyndra loan restructured in this way? Was it because a major donation bundler for President Obama’s 2008 campaign was also a principal investor in Solyndra? Is that why the administration ignored repeated warning’s of Solyndra’s insolvency?

Ryan: More Solyndra-style scandals to come

Posted on by Donald Ferguson

The Washington Examiner’s Joel Gehrke reports:

(Excerpt) “Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., predicted on Fox News Sunday that more government-backed companies would fail, after the manner of the solar energy company Solyndra, because of the inability of the government to identify prudent investments. If Ryan proves correct, the $535 million loss of federal money in the Solyndra bankruptcy will pale compared to ensuing failures…”
