Gingrich to announce bid to take radical green agenda to White House

“Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich intends to take a formal step toward entering the 2012 presidential race within the next two weeks, Republican officials said Sunday,” according to an Associated Press report in today’s Washington Examiner.

“In an e-mail, his spokesman, Rick Tyler, said, “‘We have said for weeks now that Newt will decide whether or not to move to an explore phase by late February/early March. We are sticking to that schedule.’  Later in the day, Randy Evans, a lawyer for Gingrich, said in an e-mail, ‘My expectation is that he will make an official announcement about an exploratory committee within the next ten (10) days. I also expect that it will happen in Georgia,’” the AP reports.

American Tradition Partnership welcomed the Republican establishment leader to the presidential race earlier in the month, sinking his hopes of winning the annual CPAC presidential preference straw poll.  The group distributed to the 3,000 voters information on Gingrich’s long-standing and ongoing radical green agenda, including calls for mass wealth redistribution, tax hikes and global regulatory bodies to mandate what he calls “environmental compliance,” along with sticky toy lizards dubbed “Power-Grabbing Newts.”

With a coveted speaking slot, exhibiting organization and book signing, hosting three panels and a reception and screening two films, Gingrich’s presence dominated that of other presumptive presidential candidates.  CPAC looked to be a launching pad for a Gingrich presidential bid.  Instead, the Republican powerhouse cratered  and finished with just five percent of the vote.

“American Tradition Partnership looks forward to taking our campaign of truth about Newt Gingrich to places like Iowa and New Hampshire.  Voters have the right to know about the radical green agenda of a D.C. insider who’s just Al Gore hiding under a Phil Donahue wig,” said ATP Executive Director Donald Ferguson.
