Kentuckians reject green agenda in Senate primary
Opponent Grayson tied to radical green Aspen Institute

WASHINGTON – Western Tradition Partnership urged legislators Tuesday evening to rethink their support of the environmentalist agenda after Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson’s mud-flinging, low-road U.S. Senate campaign spun into in the ditch, losing to pro-jobs upstart Dr. Rand Paul.

“For someone with such disturbing ties to the radical green elites, Trey Grayson certainly has no problem polluting the public discourse,” said Donny Ferguson, WTP National Director of Media and Public Relations.

“Americans are sick and tired of politicians who one day offer empty promises to protect their job, but the next flaunt their ties to the elite activists pushing anti-jobs legislation.  Actions speak louder than words.  They want their representatives to oppose radical international green schemes as a matter of unshakable principle, not to fling angry attacks while palling around with the most radical green groups.”

WTP does not advocate the election or defeat of candidates.  The group mailed roughly 100,000 households informing Kentuckians where Paul and Grayson stood on the issues of environmental extremism and the responsible development and management of land, water, and natural resources.

The group urged residents to contact Paul and encourage him to continue supporting a pro-jobs prosperity agenda and opposing all forms of “cap and trade” legislation, and to contact Grayson to urge him to explain his ties to the Aspen Institute, a far-left international think tank advocating taxes on carbon dioxide intended to suppress American economic activity and drive up utility prices.  Angry, deceptive attacks on pro-jobs groups hurled by Grayson in his website did not rule out his supporting a massive national energy tax proposed by liberal Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)
