WTP warns Loudoun Board:  Drop Home Improvement Tax Ordinance

WASHINGTON — Western Tradition Partnership, America’s largest grassroots opponents of environmental extremism, issued the following statement Monday evening following the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors’ public hearing on the proposed Home Improvement Tax Ordinance:

Led by the nose by radical environmentalists, the Loudoun Board of Supervisors deeply underestimated citizen opposition to their massive new Home Improvement Taxes.  It is shameful to have locked homeowners out of the stakeholder input process, while making sure to include the radical environmentalist groups who fund and support certain supervisors’ campaigns.

Shame on the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors.

The overwhelming majority of citizens who took time out their evenings to speak out clearly and articulately made their point – they realize this is the latest in a long line of radical green scams.  Just like the proposed “cap and tax” scheme in Congress, the Board’s Home Improvement Tax scheme is intended to use high taxes to bully citizens into compliance with the radical green agenda.

The few activists who defended the Home Improvement Tax Ordinance were, as usual, condescending and unyielding in their insistence the Board steamroll over citizen opposition, referring to the people of Loudoun County as “selfish and slothful” to daring to question the power of the Board to impose Home Improvement Taxes with as little debate or amendment as possible.

Even worse, this radical, inflexible plan does nothing whatsoever to address problems with the Bay. It does, however, pump massive amounts on taxpayer cash into County coffers, providing a safe habitat for government bureaucrats.

Radical environmentalists have declared war on suburbia, and certain Loudoun Board members are more than happy to target their own constituents.

If the Board did not get the message from citizens Monday night, Western Tradition Partnership will state it again – drop the Home Improvement Tax Ordinance and drop your cozy relationships with radical, arrogant ecosocialists, or we will hold you accountable.
